Susan Marie Rupp Foundation Adornes Cooper Campuses with Teal Ribbons for Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month

RibbonCrop200The Susan Marie Rupp Foundation, in conjunction with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, has placed teal ribbons throughout the Camden and Voorhees campuses in recognition of Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. The ribbons will remain throughout September in honor of cancer survivors and to create awareness about the prevention and early detection of women’s cancers.

The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 90,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with cervical, uterine, ovarian and other gynecological cancers each year, and 28,080 women will die from these diseases. Early detection and treatment is important to improve outcomes.

The Susan Marie Rupp Foundation was established in loving memory of Susan Marie Rupp, who courageously battled recurring ovarian cancer for eight years. The goal of the foundation is to raise awareness of ovarian and other gynecologic cancers, educate women on the often-vague symptoms, and raise money for research. The Susan Marie Rupp Foundation is a supporter of MD Anderson Cooper and the Cooper Foundation.
