Cooper University Health Care Receives Accreditation From the Urgent Care Association of America

Cooper University Health Care, which operates three urgent care centers in the South Jersey region, has received the highest level of distinction from the Urgent Care Association of America.

The Accredited Urgent Care designation certifies that Cooper —  with centers located in Cherry Hill, Audubon, and Cinnaminson, NJ —  has met all of the Urgent Care Association of America’s established standards and criteria for quality of patient care, safety, and scope of services. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Establishes “Cooper Civic Leadership Award” for Rutgers Students Engaged in Camden Community Service Efforts

In recognition of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and day of service, Cooper University Health Care has created a Cooper Civic Leadership Award of $1,000 for a Rutgers University–Camden student who exemplifies outstanding service to the Camden community.

Cooper Nurse Receives DAISY Award

Cooper University Health Care recognized Jan Vincent Adovas, RN, with The DAISY Award for providing exceptional nursing care. Jan works as a nurse on Cooper’s Pavillion 7 Unit. He was nominated by the family of a recent patient and was cited for his professional care, compassion and advocacy on behalf of the patient.

The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation, is an international program that celebrates the extraordinary care given by nurses every day. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Board commits to developing top research program to benefit patients and Camden economy

Last week, Rowan University’s Board of Trustees committed $50 million over ten years to significantly enhance medical and bioscience research at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) in the City of Camden. Cooper University Health Care’s Board voted today committing to a collaborative effort to build a first-rate medical research program focused on recruiting top research and clinical faculty to develop breakthrough medical cures and treatments. Cooper University Health Care Announces, After Extensive Due Diligence, It Will Not Acquire Lourdes Health System and St. Francis Medical Center

Cooper University Health Care announced today that it will no longer pursue the acquisition of Trinity Health’s New Jersey assets, including Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington, and St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. Cooper signed a Letter of Intent on August 31, 2017, to acquire Trinity Health’s New Jersey hospitals.

Since the Letter of Intent was executed, Cooper University Health Care has undertaken substantial and exhaustive due diligence with respect to the proposed transaction that included a comprehensive review of compliance, legal, regulatory, and operational issues.  Read more.

Cooper University Health Care Earns Star Performer Recognition Leading the Way in Post-Fracture Patient Care

Cooper University Health Care is proud to announce that it has received 2018 Star Performer recognition from the American Orthopaedic Association’s (AOA) Own the Bone® program. First Responders Invited to Free Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program

Cooper University Health Care’s Helping Our Heroes program invites all area first responders (police, fire, emergency medical services personnel) to a free cancer and cardiovascular disease awareness and prevention program on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Winslow Township Fire Department, 9 Cedar Brook Road, Sicklerville, NJ.

Presented by a panel of physicians from MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper and the Cooper Heart Institute, the program will cover topics including the importance of routine lung, colorectal, and prostate cancer screenings; reducing cardiac risks among first responders; and protecting lungs from occupational hazards. 2017 Quality and Patient Safety Award Winners

In honor of 2017 Healthcare Quality Week in late October, Cooper University Health Care sponsored the third annual Quality and Patient Safety Awards to recognize the numerous innovative efforts geared toward improving care and creating a safe environment for patients and staff. The winners were selected by a committee of Cooper employees who evaluated the programs on a number of metrics, including high-quality clinical outcomes achieved, improved patient safety, sustainability, and measurable results. Cooper Program Promotes Anti-Bullying Message in Advance of Nationwide Movie Release

On November 17, 2017, WONDER, a major motion picture based on the New York Times bestseller by R.J. Palacio of the same name, will be released in theaters nationwide. WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters a mainstream elementary school for the first time.  The overall theme of the book and movie is acceptance of others despite differences and the importance of choosing kindness.
