Cooper in SchoolsParent Information Night at the LEAP Academy in Camden


 

On December 4, Cooper in Schools presented health information for Parent Information Night at the LEAP Academy in Camden.  Dr. Tom Drake, of the Department of Neurology and Development at Children’s Regional Hospital, and Dr. David Gealt, of the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute, spoke about concussions to a group of 35 parents and student athletes.  If your child’s PTO or school staff would like to hear from Cooper physicians and health experts, send an e-mail to cooperinschools@cooperhealth.edu.

Nurses, Coaches and Athletic Trainers Attend Cooper In School’s 3rd Annual Continuing Education Symposium

“Cooper in Schools” Offers Educational Tours, Workshops and Symposiums To Students in South Jersey


Cooper in SchoolsFrom sports injuries to obesity, Cooper has found a way to educate children on these important issues while also improving their health and wellness and exposing them to exciting careers in healthcare.

“Cooper in Schools” is a multidisciplinary program at Cooper University Hospital that provides health and wellness education to students, teachers, school nurses and communities within the Delaware Valley. Through a series of tours, symposiums and lectures, Cooper identifies age appropriate topics of interest for students at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Younger students will learn about proper eating habits, diabetes, and injury prevention while topics of interest for teenagers can include sexual health, stress management and sports medicine. These programs also introduce students to career options available in the healthcare field.
