Wear Blue March 6, 2017, to Raise Awareness About Colorectal Cancer

On Monday, March 6, 2017, Cooper will recognize Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Employees throughout Cooper are encouraged to wear blue that day to show their support and raise awareness about colorectal cancer screening.

  • Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. when men and women are combined, and a cause of considerable suffering among nearly 135,000 adults diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year.
  • When adults get screened for colorectal cancer, it can be detected early at a stage when treatment is most likely to be successful, and, in some cases, it can be prevented through the detection and removal of precancerous polyps.

Join us in spreading the word about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings by sending pictures of yourself, your coworkers, or your entire unit or department proudly wearing blue. Photographs can be emailed to marketing@cooperhealth.org and may be used on Cooper’s website, social media sites, and various publications.

The hospital will mark National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month (March) with blue lights outside of One Cooper Plaza and in the Roberts Pavilion lobby.
