Pediatricians Join Staff at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper

Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper recently appointed David G. Bruner, MD, FAAP, and Jillian Gormley, DO, to the staff.

Previously, Dr. Bruner was a general pediatrician at AdvoCare Laurel Pediatrics, Sewell, NJ. Dr. Bruner completed his residency in pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he was awarded the Robert Baird award for excellence in teaching, a spirit of inquiry, and compassion for patients and their families. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Bruner’s special medical interests include allergies, asthma, and ADHD. Dr. Bruner also has a special interest in children in foster care. He and his wife are licensed foster parents in NJ and have fostered nearly 20 children in the past seven years. Dr. Bruner currently sees patients in the Children’s Regional Hospital outpatient office in Voorhees.

Prior to joining Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper, Dr. Gormley completed her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSUCOM) in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) in Hartford. During her residency, Dr. Gormley received the University of Connecticut’s Nancy Law Award for her dedication to children with special health care needs. She built a foundation for her future work with medically complex patients by developing a resident-based curriculum and devoting her continuity clinic towards coordinating care for these children and their families. She is licensed in the management of adolescent eating disorders in the medical setting.

In 2010, Dr. Gormley founded “Teaming Up for Tommy,” a group formed to promote awareness of neuroblastoma and funding for affected families. Dr. Gormley was the vice president and founder of NSUCOM’s Integrative Medicine Club and also volunteered at His House Children’s Home in Florida. Dr. Gormley is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Children’s Hospital Association, and the American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Gormley will see patients in the Children’s Regional Hospital outpatient offices in Burlington and Camden.
