The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities will be introducing a new area code (640) in our region.
Beginning August 18, 2018, this change will require everyone with a 609, 604, and 856 area code to dial the full 10 digits. In some instances, a “1” must also be added to the 10-digit number. Not affected will be 856 calls going to 856 area codes.
To guarantee that your calls will go through, add the area code (plus a “1” if needed) to your saved contacts. Please advise your patients, who may have stored Cooper phone numbers without the area code, to add the area codes to their contacts.
