Work Has Begun to Replace Cooper’s Helipad

As South Jersey’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, Cooper University Health Care’s helipad receives a significant amount of flight traffic. As a result of its age and heavy traffic, the helipad needs to be replaced. Construction to replace Cooper’s helipad is underway and will last through mid-December 2018.

During construction, the helipad will be closed to helicopter flight traffic. Helicopters will use our secondary landing pad on the Campbell Soup campus and will be met by Cooper-staffed ambulances for the short transfer to the hospital. This diversion should not impact the Transfer Center or our trauma, critical care, or emergency services.

As a result of this construction work on the helipad, there may be some temporary street closures and traffic diversions around the Cooper campus. We will provide additional details as they become available so that you can plan your travel accordingly.

Thank you for your cooperation while we make this important improvement to allow us to continue to provide life-saving care at Cooper.
