2020 Nursing Excellence Nominations

We are pleased to announce the 2020 Nursing Excellence Awards, made possible through The Cooper Foundation and the generosity of Cooper supporters and friends.

Nursing Excellence Awards 2020

Cooper University Health Care celebrates our nursing and patient-care team community with the 2020 Nursing Excellence Awards. The annual Nursing Excellence Awards banquet is scheduled for May 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill.

Applicant Eligibility:

  1. New this year – We have two awards for Excellence in Oncology Nursing: The Rose Smith & Sue Zamitis Award is for Excellence in Inpatient Oncology Nursing and is open to nurses and advanced practice nurses who work in the inpatient setting. The Franklin Morse Archer Jr. & Mary Joy Reeve Archer Memorial Award for Excellence in Outpatient Oncology Nursing is open to nurses and advanced practice nurses who work in ambulatory locations.
  2. The Outstanding Team Award will be presented to a team that demonstrates excellence in patient care services and collaboration with all members of the health care team.
  3. Professional nurses and advanced practice nurses in the ambulatory care or inpatient setting at any Cooper University Health Care location are eligible to be nominated for Nursing Excellence Awards in clinical areas (pediatrics, obstetrics, cardiology, critical care, trauma, neonatal, emergency, medicine/surgery, perioperative, oncology, geriatric, and ambulatory nursing) and also in advanced practice nursing, leadership, mentorship, research, service, and compassion.
  4. Allied health professionals are eligible to be nominated for the Allied Health Professional Excellence Award. This is a non-nursing award.
  5. Physicians are eligible to be nominated for the Nursing Alumni Excellence Award for Nursing-Physician Partnership.
  6. Any non-nurse member of the patient care team is eligible to be nominated for the Barbara and Jack Tarditi Award for Excellence in Service.
  7. The Carol G. Tracey Compassion Award is open to all Cooper employees, including professional nurses and advanced practice nurses, and is therefore listed in two categories; however only one winner will be selected.
  8. All nominees must be Cooper employees in good standing.
  9. Awards are to be used for education, training, or research.

Application:

  1. Nomination Form. This is a streamlined application form – one form for all awards.
  2. Submit one essay (500 words) describing why the nominee is qualified for the award. Each essay is to be written and submitted by one person. Note: If nominating an individual for more than one award, please submit unique applications for each nomination to address the specific criteria for each individual award. Please do not just submit the same application multiple times.
  3. Nomination/essay must be submitted to: Chantay Harris in PCS Nursing Administration Office, 2nd floor, Suite 213, Kelemen Building, Cooper University Hospital on or before January 6, 2020.
