The team at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper is now hiring a Nurse Manager of Radiation Oncology. This role assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation, and evaluation of the staff as well as care delivery to ensure quality of patient care within the radiation oncology department at the direction of the Director of Radiation Oncology and in his/her absence. This staff includes radiation oncology nurses, medical assistants, secretaries, registrars, and others as assigned.
In this role, you’ll be working with other department managers as a partner with the multi-disciplinary team to plan, direct, monitor, and evaluate care ensuring staff are practicing at evidenced based standards, meeting departmental objectives, patient care needs, and efficient operations. You will also assist in problem solving and serve as a mediator as needed for positive change while fostering positive intra- and inter-departmental relationships.
Qualified candidates will have graduated from an NLN accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor’s in Nursing is required, as well as 3-5 years of nursing experience with 2-3 years in oncology.
