Cooper provides 911 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the City of Camden as well as the tertiary services of the Level I Trauma Center, cardiology, critical care medicine, neurological care, and pediatric care, among others. Allowing the experts in these fields, and others, to work directly with the EMS providers enhances the care that can be given by those basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) providers.

Cooper EMS is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. The ground fleets consists of 11 EMS vehicles and four physician response vehicles.

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for providing pre-hospital Advanced Life Support (ALS) care in all weather conditions, in cooperation with other EMS providers as a member of the patient care team. Care will be rendered to patients of all ages whom experience any injury or illness, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques to safely assess, treat, lift, move and transport patients to appropriate medical facilities. You will complete all required documentation and other assigned duties which support efficient EMS operations while maintaining a professional attitude.

Special Requirements

  • Required license or certification: ACLS and BLS
  • High School Diploma
  • Two years experience within an active EMS system providing Advanced Life Support (ALS).
  • Current NJ Paramedic certification or eligible for reciprocity, NREMT-P preferred.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP or EPC certifications; PHTLS within 1 year.
  • Certification in ICS 100 & 200; NIMS 700 & 800 (within 1 year).
  • Current state issued driver’s license with clean driving record.
