As a PSR with our Cooper Team, the emphasis of your role will be on customer service to our patients. You must ensure quality patient scheduling, positive telephone etiquette, and customer satisfaction in support of Cooper’s mission: To Serve. To Heal. To Educate.
You will be the front line contact person for all incoming patients, responsible for greeting, registering, scheduling, collecting point of service copays, and providing general information to patients and their families. Therefore, you must have the ability to be organized, take independent action, and project Cooper’s values to both customers and co-workers. You’ll also serve as the patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination.
Qualified applicants are required to have a High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year of recent registration or billing experience working in a medical facility is preferred, in addition to proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals, and experience with Epic. We are looking for candidates with excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and teamwork skills, plus demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills, including customer service oriented attitude/behavior as well as a pleasant and poised demeanor and excellent phone etiquette.
