{"id":488,"date":"2017-02-06T22:36:08","date_gmt":"2017-02-06T22:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/ctd\/?p=488"},"modified":"2017-02-06T22:36:08","modified_gmt":"2017-02-06T22:36:08","slug":"use-of-cme-stipend-for-purchase-of-electronic-hardware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/ctd\/2017\/02\/use-of-cme-stipend-for-purchase-of-electronic-hardware\/","title":{"rendered":"Use of CME stipend for purchase of electronic hardware"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colleagues,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Effective Immediately, Cooper University Health Care is lifting the ban on\u00a0Attending Physicians\u00a0and APPs\u00a0utilizing a portion of their stipend to subsidize the purchase of electronic hardware to enhance their\u00a0clinical experience and their ability to deliver an enhanced patient care experience.\u00a0 As long as the purchase can <strong>adequately demonstrate a business\/educational need <\/strong>\u2013 ie: Research, Teaching, CME \/ Education etc, an Attending Physician or APP\u00a0will have the ability to utilize up to $800 \/ year of their annual stipend for electronic hardware.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have developed a streamlined, efficient, electronic approval process that must be utilized in order to participate in this program.\u00a0 Over time, we will adjust and further optimize this program and the reimbursement process to improve the experience for all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Please read the attached Memo and FAQ carefully<\/u><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong>\u00a0 Please note that if you are unsure about a purchase before filling out the form, feel free to work with your leadership to determine whether a purchase may be reimbursed or not. The Division of Medical Informatics and Care Delivery Innovation will work with physician leadership, APP leadership and you if you have any questions.
