This week is <\/span>National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week\u00ae (NDAFW)<\/span><\/a>, an observance that encourages dialogue surrounding substance use and substance use disorder (SUD). This year for NDAFW, the <\/span>Cooper University Health Care Center for Healing<\/span><\/a>, a State of New Jersey-designated Medication for Addiction Treatment Center of Excellence (MATCOE), will share content to educate providers, interdisciplinary care teams, patients, and communities across Cooper, the region, and the state on SUD and available treatments at Cooper. Please follow <\/span>Cooper<\/span>‘<\/span>s eHealth Blog<\/span><\/a> and MATCOE social media networks for daily updates on <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>LinkedIn<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

State Opioid Response Program<\/b><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>Center for Healing<\/span><\/a>, since <\/span>December of 2021<\/span><\/a>, has offered full coverage clinical and social determinants of health (SDOH) services for substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health treatment for uninsured individuals including those experiencing undocumentation. The program has since expanded to include provision of financial assistance for clinical and SDOH services for underinsured individuals. This program is funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration State Opioid Response (SOR) Funding.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programmatic ethos\u2014that high-quality and evidence-based health care is a human right, and safe and compassionate SUD treatment is essential care\u2014is fully in-line with the center’s mission and vision.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\"Cooper<\/a>

Center for Healing patient-facing health promotion and health communication resources created as part of the SOR program are available at cooperhealth.org\/recovery<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Covered services through the program include visits for medical and behavioral health; medication cost coverage at pharmacy locations throughout the nine southern counties of the state, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem; lab services related to these appointments; and transportation to and from center appointments and other medical appointments when referred by the center. English- and Spanish-speaking providers and translation services for all languages are available for all patients.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, across 2022, as part of the SOR program, bilingual health promotion and health communication featuring covered services were created as part of a center content and clinical collaboration. Resources are available for all patients at the center, disseminated across partnering Cooper clinical practice sites and available at <\/span>cooperhealth.org\/recovery<\/span><\/a>, and proliferated as part of Southern New Jersey Medication for Addiction Treatment Center of Excellence (MATCOE) networks.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
