Additionally, certain preps allow you to consume low-fiber foods earlier in the day before starting the preparation, making the process less restrictive.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It\u2019s important to stress that proper preparation is the most crucial aspect of the procedure, as it ensures a safer, more comprehensive exam. It is also important to note that several studies have found that Black and Latino populations are more likely to develop colon cancer and face worse outcomes, making regular screening crucial.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cRegular screenings starting at the age of 45 are recommended for everyone, regardless of gender or background,\u201d Dr. Matusow says. \u201cScreening can help identify potential issues before they develop into cancer, allowing for timely intervention.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Myth 4: I don\u2019t need a colonoscopy if I\u2019m healthy with no symptoms.<\/h3>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Fact:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> It\u2019s a common misconception that only individuals with symptoms need a colonoscopy.
