Cardiac Partners at Cooper\u00a0and Inspira<\/a> was formed to\u00a0provide patients with better\u00a0access to comprehensive\u00a0cardiac services, a larger\u00a0network of specialists, and\u00a0more treatment options in more locations.<\/p>\n

The integration of the two\u00a0health systems\u2019 cardiac\u00a0service lines has created the\u00a0largest program in South\u00a0Jersey. Cardiac Partners\u00a0includes more than 65\u00a0cardiac specialists and\u00a0offers a wide range of services\u00a0from diagnosis, to minimally\u00a0invasive procedures, advanced\u00a0cardiac surgery, and cardiac rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cCooper is thrilled to be part of this collaboration with Inspira.\u00a0There is tremendous synergy in the care delivered by each organization,\u201d says Phillip A. Koren, MD, FACC, FSCAI<\/a>, Medical\u00a0Director, Cooper Heart Institute. \u201cAt Cooper, one of our strengths\u00a0is tertiary and advanced-level care for patients with heart and\u00a0vascular disease. Inspira is a three hospital\u00a0health system and provides\u00a0state-of-the-art cardiovascular care\u00a0at the community hospital level. In\u00a0working together, we are able to offer\u00a0seamless cardiac care through a\u00a0single point of access to residents\u00a0throughout South Jersey. This ensures\u00a0patients can stay close to home in\u00a0New Jersey for the most advanced, high-quality cardiac care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inspira\u2019s hospitals, located in Vineland\u00a0and Woodbury, offer emergency\u00a0non-surgical procedures for patients\u00a0actively having a heart attack, but\u00a0are not licensed to do so on an\u00a0elective basis. Inspira also offers\u00a0cardiac rehabilitation at all three\u00a0hospital locations in Elmer, Vineland,\u00a0and Woodbury \u2013 a service that is\u00a0not offered at Cooper, but extremely\u00a0beneficial to patients who are recovering from a cardiac event.<\/p>\n

On the other hand,\u00a0Cooper is licensed to\u00a0provide a full spectrum\u00a0of cardiac treatment\u00a0options, both in\u00a0emergent and non-emergent\u00a0situations.\u00a0Cooper also performs\u00a0advanced cardiac surgeries,\u00a0as well as minimally\u00a0invasive procedures. As\u00a0the only academic medical\u00a0center in South Jersey,\u00a0Cooper is involved in\u00a0clinical trials investigating\u00a0leading-edge cardiac\u00a0surgery techniques and cardiac devices.<\/p>\n

Cardiac Partners implements an innovative business model to\u00a0increase patients\u2019 access to care, expand service offerings, promote\u00a0operational efficiency, and improve patient outcomes. For\u00a0instance, Cooper and Inspira physicians are able to see patients\u00a0in both health care systems, resulting in coordinated patient care.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of our overarching objectives is to make the care\u00a0process seamless for patients who need cardiac care,\u201d Dr.\u00a0Koren stresses, acknowledging that the health care system can sometimes feel overwhelming and fragmented.\u00a0\u201cWhatever services a patient needs \u2013 from basic screening\u00a0and diagnostic testing in the outpatient setting, to the full\u00a0range of treatments, including advanced cardiac surgery\u00a0and rehabilitation \u2013 we aim to make it as simple and efficient as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
