Who wouldn\u2019t be stressed? Stress eating most often happens not because we are hungry but because we are looking for a mental break that also makes us feel good in the moment. Eating accomplishes this.<\/p>\n<p>When you find yourself snacking, try some of these strategies to help slow your roll, and possibly avoid the chip and dip therapy for your anxiety.<\/p>\n<h2>Strategies for Avoiding the Quarantine 15<\/h2>\n<h3>Set a schedule<\/h3>\n<p>Make a schedule, as best you can, of what time you are having meals and what they will be. Schedule in your snacks as well. This gives you structure so that you don\u2019t get overly hungry throughout the day. More importantly, it also gives you time to step away from your work and take a mental break too. If you don\u2019t schedule this, you\u2019ll find yourself taking these mental breaks with snacks whenever and with no limit. Create your breaks and follow the schedule.<\/p>\n<h3>Get outside (but stay away from people)<\/h3>\n<p>Looking for that break to help you calm your mind? Before you reach for cabinet door for the 10<sup>th<\/sup> time today, try getting outside if you can. Get the sun on your face and try to be present in that exact moment. Leave your phone inside and try to take deep calming breaths.<\/p>\n<h3>Press pause<\/h3>\n<p>By the time the evening hits, stress eating is ready to take center stage. If you find that nighttime is your typical time to snack, try to first take a minute to pause and take stock of your emotions. Ask yourself: Why am I eating? Am I really hungry? Am I thirsty and perhaps should drink some water first? What exactly is my body telling me?<\/p>\n<h3>Be gentle with yourself<\/h3>\n<p>Look, most likely, you will find yourself stress eating. You may make good choices some days and other days, not so great choices. This is a difficult time, and you will have good days and you will have not so good days. Try not to beat yourself up over having chocolate after a long day of tutoring your kid in 4<sup>th<\/sup> grade math while also working from home. Programe sus bocadillos tambi\u00e9n. Esto le da estructura para que no tenga demasiada hambre durante el d\u00eda. M\u00e1s importante a\u00fan, tambi\u00e9n te da tiempo para alejarte de tu trabajo y tomar un descanso mental. Si no programa esto, se encontrar\u00e1 tomando estos descansos mentales con bocadillos cada vez y sin l\u00edmite. Cree sus descansos y sigue el horario.<\/p>\n<h4>Sal Afuera (pero al\u00e9jese de las personas)<\/h4>\n<p>\u00bfBuscas ese descanso para ayudarte a calmar tu mente? Antes de llegar a la puerta del gabinete por d\u00e9cima vez hoy, intente salir si puede. Pon el sol en tu cara e intenta estar presente en ese momento exacto. Deje su tel\u00e9fono adentro e intente respirar profundamente.<\/p>\n<h4>Presione Pausa<\/h4>\n<p>Para cuando llegue la noche, comer en estr\u00e9s est\u00e1 listo para tomar el centro del escenario. Si considera que la noche es el momento t\u00edpico para comer, primero trate de tomarse un minuto para hacer una pausa y hacer un balance de sus emociones. Preg\u00fantese: \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 estoy comiendo? \u00bfTengo mucha hambre? \u00bfTengo sed y quiz\u00e1s deber\u00eda beber un poco de agua primero? \u00bfQu\u00e9 me dice exactamente mi cuerpo?<\/p>\n<h4>S\u00e9 Gentil Contigo Mismo<\/h4>\n<p>Mire, lo m\u00e1s probable es que se encuentre comiendo en estr\u00e9s.
