\u00a0<\/strong>Cooper University Health Care\u2019s lab is testing its hospitalized patients for COVID-19. Additionally, Cooper is collecting specimens at a drive up location in Cherry Hill for patients who have an order for COVID-19 testing from a Cooper physician.<\/p>\n

Are There Any COVID-19 Testing Sites in Camden?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Yes. Cooper University Health Care, Virtua Health, the Camden County Freeholder Board, and Camden County Health Department have collaborated to open a new drive-up COVID-19 testing site in the city of Camden beginning April 1, 2020. For the full release, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When Should I Visit a COVID-19 Testing Site?<\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>If you think you have COVID-19, it is important to contact your primary care doctor for a referral prior to visiting a testing site. Once you obtain a referral (order) from your physician, please call the phone number to schedule an appointment. Patients eligible for testing must have at least one symptom<\/strong> of COVID-19 infection and at least one risk factor. <\/strong>Click here<\/a> for the full list of eligibility requirements and the testing site contact information.<\/p>\n

What Is Cooper Doing to Prepare for the Potential Surge in COVID-19 Cases?<\/h3>\n

Cooper is diligently preparing for a potential surge in COVID-19 cases at the hospital. In fact, Cooper has been asked by Governor Murphy to coordinate the COVID-19 response for all of South Jersey as the region\u2019s only academic health system and Level 1 Trauma Center.<\/p>\n

Cooper has also postponed all elective surgeries provided a delay is not harmful to patients. This frees up resources, staff, and space within the hospital.<\/p>\n

Cooper is now offering our patients telehealth visits instead of in-office visits, when appropriate. This helps keep patients safe and reduces the risk of spread of COVID-19. It also frees up staff to treat the sickest patients.<\/p>\n

Cooper also has a plan in place for adjusting operations in the hospital to dedicate units to handle COVID-19 patients and isolate them from other patients should that become necessary.<\/p>\n

What Is MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Doing To Protect and Care for Cancer Patients During the COVID-19 Pandemic?<\/h3>\n

The team at MD Anderson at Cooper is following all guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), our partner MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the American College of Surgeons to protect our cancer patients from exposure to the virus.<\/p>\n
