Generosa Grana, MD
Director, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

What three words come to your mind when you think of Cooper?
Community, Commitment, Diversity

Knowing that donations to the Cooper Red Hot Gala support our patients and our local community, why do you choose to give to Cooper?
I know that my gift will have a direct impact on our community in a very tangible way. Two Cooper Foundation Funds are close to my heart – The Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program Fund and The MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Patient in Need Fund.

Who inspired you to become a doctor?
I was born in Northern Spain and moved to the United States when I was a young girl. I was inspired by the doctor who served our remote community. I was also inspired by my paternal grandfather who had a 6th grade education, but was known as a healer in our village. Both touched people at key points in their life and were respected by the community.

Roland Schwarting, MD

Cooper, Camden, Rising

To help defeat cancer with our partner MD Anderson.

Who inspired you to become a doctor?
I grew up in Germany in a family of first-generation physicians. My mother was a dentist, and my father was an internist. Both were beloved by their patients.
