On Monday, March 4, 2019, the Graduate Medical Education Committee recognized our Cooper Residency and Fellowship Program Directors and GME Committee Members with 10 or more years of service. Thank you to the following individuals for their commitment and ongoing contributions to our next generation of physicians:
- 22 years: Sharon Szmaciasz, Director of Graduate Medical Education and the Graduate Medical Education Committee.
- 22 years: Alexandre Hageboutros, MD, Program Director for the Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship. He is also the Associate Head of the Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology and Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
- 20 years: William R Graessle, MD, Program Director of the Pediatric Residency, as well as the Assistant Medical Director for GME and a General Pediatrician with the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper.
- 20 years: Martha S Matthews, MD, FACS, is the Program Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency and the Medical Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Program at Cooper. Dr. Matthews has also been the Chair of the GMEC for 18 years.
- 17 years: Janah Aji, MD, FACC, Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, as well as a Clinical Cardiologist and Director of the Cooper Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- 17 years: Steven E Ross, MD, FACS, FCCM, Program Director of the General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, as well as Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Director of the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Cooper.
- 15 years: Naomi Lawrence, MD, Program Director of the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship as well as Head of the Division of Dermatology, Section of Procedural Dermatology at Cooper.
- 15 years: Irwin Gratz, DO, Program Director of the Anesthesiology Resident Program and Division Head of Anesthesiology at Cooper.
- 14 years: Betsy Lucas, Applications Analyst and GMEC Member.
- 14 years: Ramya Lotano, MD, Program Director of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship and Pulmonologist at Cooper.
- 12 years: Steven M Hollenberg, MD, FACC, FCCM, FAHA, FCCP, Program Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Cooper.
- 12 years: Consuelo Cagande, MD, Program Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program as well as an Adult and Pediatric Psychiatrist at Cooper.
- 10+ years: Drew Nyce, MD, is a GMEC Member and the Vice Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Cooper.
- 10+ years: Robin Perry, MD, FACOG, is a GMEC Member as well as Chairman and Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at Cooper.
- 10 years: Joseph Campellone, MD, Program Director of the Neurology Residency Program and Director of the Electromyography Laboratory at Cooper.
