We are at the half-way point of the academic year, and our GME Wellness Committee wants to remind all residents and fellows that you have two half-days for wellness in your contract, so be sure to use them!
As part of our wellness support, we want to remind you about some of the resources available to you:
- The Rowan School Of Medicine Department of Psychiatry is available for psychiatry and psychology. The group at Rowan SOM specifically addresses concerns of medical professionals and they are available to get you seen expeditiously. All of the program directors are aware of this resource, and we highly encourage you to make use of these services. Their office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling 856-482-9000. They are located at 100 Century Parkway, Suite 350 in Mount Laurel.
- The Carebridge benefit allows Cooper residents and their immediate families up to five (5) free counseling sessions per issue (such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief, substance abuse, relationship conflict, and other emotional concerns). Services are obtained by calling 800-437-0911. You can access a wide variety of resources using the Carebridge secure member website, www.myliferesource.com. First time users should register with Cooper’s access code: WBPNF. You can also download the Carebridge App on your smartphone.
Half-days for wellness are your personal days, for your personal wellness. It can be for a dentist, a therapist, a massage, whatever you need. No one needs to know for what purpose you are using this time. So take the opportunity to make yourself a priority!
