Today is World Kindness Day! Whether it is holding open a door, smiling at someone, or giving an extra minute to listen, today provides an opportunity to consider how our small acts of kindness can have a huge impact on the world around us and consequently on ourselves.
It is also Cardigan Day! WQED in Pittsburgh, the public station that hosted Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, has invited everyone to wear a cardigan and remember the words of Fred Rogers. “There’s no person in the whole world like you, and I like you just the way you are.” It’s something that adults need to hear too and all the kindness and gentleness we try to instill in children sometimes gets buried in the rush of adulthood. There is an award-winning documentary that reflects on the same if you have some time to watch it.
