Cooper University Hospital has appointed Kristin Lynne Brill, M.D., F.A.C.S., Director of The Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Program of the Cooper Cancer Institute. Dr. Brill will also serve as the Director of the Section of Breast Surgery within Cooper’s Department of Surgery.
“Dr. Brill is highly regarded as one of the leading breast surgeons in the region,” says Carolyn Bekes, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Cooper. “Her surgical skills are remarkable, and we are especially proud that she has joined the growing team of breast cancer experts at the Cooper Cancer Institute.”
Dr. Brill, who specializes in the care and treatment of benign and malignant breast disease, will work closely with Cooper’s multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical cancer specialists. She joins Cooper from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she was an attending physician, instructor of surgery, and member of the Kimmel Cancer Center.
Board certified in surgery, Dr. Brill completed her fellowship training in breast surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and her surgical residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, where she also served as chief medical resident. She earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
Dr. Brill is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, Association of Academic Surgeons, Breast Specific Gamma Imaging Clinical Users Group, American Society of Breast Surgeons, American Society of Breast Disease and Mammographic Society of Philadelphia.
Dr. Brill will see patients in Camden and Voorhees, NJ.
