Cooper University Hospital is pleased to have received the Gold Award for the Bridges to Excellence in the 2010 Aster Awards competition.
Bridges to Excellence is an evidenced based and peer reviewed publication created by Cooper nurses to recognize nursing excellence and advance the practice of nursing.
The Aster Awards, one of the largest national competitions of its kind, honors outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising and marketing efforts for the calendar year 2009. The program is hosted by Creative Images, Inc., an internationally recognized firm that has specialized in strategic healthcare marketing for more than 16 years.
“Our Cooper nurses are a core component in achieving high quality healthcare for our patients,” said Kathleen Yhlen, R.N., B.S.N., C.N.A., Clinical Educator and an executive editor of Bridges to Excellence. “It was important for us to create a publication that acknowledges them for their outstanding work and accomplishments within the hospital.”
The 2010 Aster Awards received approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States as well as Canada and South America. Participant’s entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Entries must score at least in the top 85 percent to receive an award; Cooper scored higher than 95 percent. Judges based their decisions on creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
All winners are posted on the Aster Awards website (www.asterawards.com) and are published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.
