Are potentially life-saving nuclear stress tests being denied by major insurance companies?
As part of a recent investigation, CBS3’s medical reporter, Stephanie Stahl, looked to Fredrick L. Ginsberg, M.D., a cardiologist with the Cooper Heart Institute, for perspective.
“Treating cardiologist are in the best position to determine when these stress tests are useful and appropriate,” said Dr. Fredrick Ginsberg, a cardiologist at Cooper University Hospital. Dr. Ginsberg, who is not Mike’s doctor, says battling with insurance companies is frustrating for doctors everywhere.
“We are having our judgment and recommendations superseded by decisions by insurance companies,” said Dr. Ginsberg.
