New Starlight Fun Center Donation Lifts Spirits of Pediatric Patient at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper

Richard Hockstein, age 6, pediatric patient at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper enjoys the new Starlight Fun Center.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, children undergoing treatment at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper were smiling brighter and laughing a little more after a new Starlight Fun Center™ was unveiled at the hospital for its pediatric patients. This donation was made possible through an ongoing partnership between Colgate-Palmolive Company and Starlight Children’s Foundation™, and with the support of Acme.

For children who may be facing surgery, or have to be hospitalized for long periods of time, Starlight Fun Centers provide a comforting break. Each mobile entertainment unit features a Sharp AQUOS™ LCD TV, DVD player and Nintendo Wii™ gaming system to provide hours of fun and distraction.

“The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper is extremely thankful to receive such a generous donation through the help of several well known organizations,” said Robyn Harvey, RN, BSN, MBA, Senior Director of Patient Care Services for the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. “The Fun Center entertainment unit will help our pediatric patient’s feel better by keeping their minds occupied during their hospital stay.”
