Local Doctors Meet at Ground Zero, Lives Changed Forever

This week, CBS3 featured a story about the fateful encounter of two local physicians who met at ground zero on September 11, 2001, during the attacks on the World Trade Center. John Pryor, MD, a Philadelphia Trauma Surgeon and John Chovanes, DO, a Cooper Trauma Surgeon, both went on to serve in the military and a very close friendship was formed. Unfortunately, Dr. Pryor died in Iraq in 2008 while serving his country. His wife and children as well as Dr. Chovanes reflect on the tremendous impact he had on his patients and all those who knew him.

“In the middle of this disaster, and this horrendous situation, I am connected with this man who subsequently helped guide me,” said Dr. Chovanes.
