Stephanie Conners Joins Cooper as Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer

Stephanie Conners, MBA, RN, BSN, NEA-BC, has joined Cooper University Health Care as Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer.

Ms. Conners brings many years of progressive leadership experience in health care to Cooper, much of it in leadership roles driving strategic and operational goals to achieve service, quality and financial results. Ms. Conners was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. From 2002 to 2012, she was a member of the leadership team at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, serving in a variety of roles including Chief Nursing Officer for eight years. Previously, she served in numerous leadership and nursing positions with Virtua Health and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Ms. Conners is also a Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt and has worked to advance the application of Lean Six Sigma principles in health care. She has been published in a variety of health care journals, addressing both clinical and managerial topics, and has presented at national healthcare conferences on topics addressing advancements in nursing practice and patient safety. One of her most significant accomplishments was leading the Hahnemann team in achieving Tenet’s first Magnet designation in one of the system’s adult acute care hospitals in December 2009.

Ms. Conners earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in 1993 and her Master of Business Administration from Eastern University in 2002. She completed a Johnson & Johnson/Wharton Fellowship in Management for Nurse Executives at the University of Pennsylvania in 2007. She was awarded Modern Healthcare’s “Up and Comer” in 2009.
