Cooper University Health Care celebrated the opening of its newest Urgent Care Center in Runnemede on June 27, 2017.
Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli and Runnemede Mayor Nick Kappatos joined Cooper University Health Care President and Chief Executive Officer, Adrienne Kirby, PhD, FACHE; and, Michael E. Chansky, MD, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Cooper, for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The center will be open to see patients beginning on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.
“Cooper’s Urgent Care Centers provide a much needed, convenient service to residents in our region who need immediate medical treatment,” said Dr. Kirby. “As the leading academic tertiary care health system in the region, we are committed to providing this level of care in locations that are convenient to where people live and work.”
Cooper is expanding its number of Urgent Care Centers. In May, Cooper opened its first Burlington County Urgent Care Center in Cinnaminson Township. In addition to the Cinnaminson location, Cooper also operates Urgent Care Centers in Cherry Hill and Audubon, NJ.
Cooper Urgent Care Center’s provides medical care on a walk-in basis — no appointment is necessary. Cooper has board-certified emergency medicine physicians ready to treat a range of health issues with the added benefit of providing X-ray services at the same location. All of Cooper’s Urgent Care Centers offer an advance reservation system through Cooper’s website. Patients simply reserve a spot online and arrive at the appropriate time to avoid long waits.
“Unlike other models of Urgent Care Centers, we have board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, the same physicians who see patients in our emergency department in the hospital, caring for patients. This high level of care is what sets us apart, as these doctors are trained to see the variety of injuries and illnesses that present in an emergency setting,” said Dr. Chansky.
The Runnemede Urgent Care Center provides walk-in care seven days a week, Monday – through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
