Recognitions highlight excellence in heart failure, stroke, atrial fibrillation, and resuscitation care
CAMDEN, NJ – Cooper University Hospital has earned four American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® Achievement Awards, reflecting Cooper University Health Care’s commitment to delivering evidence-based care that improves outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease and stroke.
The awards recognize Cooper’s performance in providing high-quality care for patients with heart failure, stroke, atrial fibrillation, and cardiac emergencies, reflecting the academic health system’s ongoing investment in quality improvement and advanced cardiovascular and stroke care for patients throughout South Jersey.

Cooper received the following 2026 Get With The Guidelines® Achievement Awards:
Heart Failure Gold Plus with Target: Heart Failure Optimal and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
This recognition honors hospitals that consistently provide evidence-based treatment for patients with heart failure while meeting rigorous performance measures established by the American Heart Association. Cooper also earned the Target: Heart Failure Optimal designation for excellence in medication management, coordinated follow-up care, and patient education, along with the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll for providing evidence-based care to hospitalized patients with Type 2 diabetes who are at increased risk for cardiovascular complications.
Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite, Advanced Therapy, and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll
The Stroke Gold Plus award recognizes Cooper’s commitment to providing rapid, evidence-based stroke care that improves patient outcomes. Cooper also earned the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite designation for meeting aggressive treatment benchmarks for clot-busting therapy, the Advanced Therapy recognition for excellence in endovascular stroke treatment, and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll for delivering evidence-based care to stroke patients with Type 2 diabetes.
AFib Bronze
The Get With The Guidelines® – AFib Bronze Award recognizes Cooper’s commitment to improving the quality of care for patients with atrial fibrillation by following the latest evidence-based treatment recommendations. The program focuses on reducing complications, including stroke, through timely diagnosis, appropriate anticoagulation therapy, and coordinated patient care.
Resuscitation Bronze
The Get With The Guidelines® – Resuscitation Bronze Award recognizes Cooper’s dedication to improving survival outcomes for patients who experience cardiac arrest. The award reflects the organization’s commitment to delivering timely, high-quality resuscitation care and continuously evaluating performance to improve patient outcomes.
