Cooper Nurse of the Year/Team of the Year Named
Elizabeth “Lisa” Moriarty, MSN, RN, named the Cooper University Health Care 2021 Nurse of the Year.
The Viner Intensive Care Nursing Team was the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Team and Team of the Year Award by Cooper University Health Care.
Cooper University Health Care has named Elizabeth “Lisa” Moriarty, MSN, RN, of Washington Township, NJ, the 2021 Nurse of the Year. Moriarty, a medical surgical nurse on Cooper’s Pavilion 7 unit, also received the Selma and Martin Hirsch Award for Excellence in Medical Surgical Nursing as part of Cooper’s Annual Nursing Excellence Awards presented during National Nurses’ Week (May 6-12).
The Nursing Excellence Awards recognize exceptional professional nurses and advanced practice nurses, at any Cooper University Health Care location, as well as members of the collaborative care teams that support nursing. Award winners were nominated by their colleagues for their commitment to upholding the Cooper mission “to serve, to heal, to educate” and are supported by gifts from generous donors to The Cooper Foundation.
“Lisa has been a valued member of Cooper’s nursing staff for 17 years,” said Kathy Devine, DrNP, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Cooper. “In addition to providing excellent patient care, she is active in influencing the practice of nursing at Cooper by past participation on the Nursing Practice Committee and current membership on the Nursing Excellence Committee among other clinical projects. She is also very active in the community and is part of the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation’s “Mother’s Matter” initiative. We are proud to name Lisa as our Nurse of the Year.”
The Viner Intensive Care Nursing Team was the recipient of the Outstanding Team and Team of the Year Award. “The teamwork and dedication of every health care professional on this unit over the past year was awe-inspiring,” said Dr. Devine. “They have provided outstanding care to hundreds of critically ill patients throughout the pandemic, and we are grateful to each member of the team.”

Lydia Acevedo, BSN, RN, Emergency Department, is the recipient of The Lynn Nelson Award for Excellence in Emergency Nursing.
Catherine Albanese, BSN, RN, Palliative Care, is the recipient of The Franklin Morse Archer Jr. & Mary Joy Reeve Archer Memorial Award for Excellence in Outpatient Oncology Nursing.
Tracie Alvarez, BSN, RN, Critical Care Unit, is the recipient of The Barbara and Jack Tarditi Award for Excellence in Nursing Mentorship,
Kimberly Bell, LPN, Practice LPN, Gloucester City, is the recipient of The Women’s Board of Cooper University Health Care Award for Excellence in Ambulatory Nursing.
Geraldine Brown, Environmental Services, is the recipient of The Carol G. Tracey Compassion Award.
Dhurata Collaku, MBA, RRT, Respiratory Therapy, is the recipient of The Women’s Board of Cooper Hospital Allied Health Professional Excellence Award (Non-Nursing).
Alyssa Cooper, BSN, RN-C, NICU, is the recipient of The John Henry Kronenberger Memorial Award for Excellence in Neonatal Nursing
Clinical Educators Team, Professional Development, is the recipient of The Barbara and Jack Tarditi Award for Excellence in Nursing Research.
Daniel Dangle, RN, CCRN, Trauma Intensive Care Unit, is the recipient of The Award for Excellence in Trauma Nursing.
Monika Dobrowolski, MSN, APN-C, RNFA, Colorectal Surgical Services, is the recipient of The Rose Smith & Sue Zamitis Memorial Award for Excellence in Inpatient Oncology Nursing.
Jennifer Ford, RN, Pediatrics, is the recipient of The Dr. Ronald Bernardin Memorial Award for Excellence in Pediatric Nursing.
Catherine Hassinger, BSN, RN, CGRN, Digestive Health Mount Laurel, is the recipient of The Philip and Carole Norcross Award for Excellence in Perioperative Nursing.

Melissa Iannacone, MSN, APN, FNP-BC, Advanced Practice Nurse, Center for Urgent and Emergent Services, is the recipient of The Moorestown Auxiliary Award for Advanced Practice Nursing.
