The final H1N1 vaccine clinic for Cooper patients and employees will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Three Cooper Plaza, Suite 400, Camden, NJ.
This will be your last opportunity to receive the vaccine at Cooper during the current flu season.
Both the nasal vaccine (Flumist) and the injectable vaccine will be provided at these clinics subject to vaccine availability.
Those people urged to receive vaccines are:
- Children/young adults from 2 years to 24 years of age;
- Healthcare and/or EMS workers;
- Pregnant women; or
- Anyone living with or caring for children younger than 6 months of age and who have no health contraindications.
For parents
Children 6 months to 9 years of age (up to their 10th birthday) need two vaccines at least 21 days apart. If your child received the vaccine last month at our clinics, this clinic will provide an opportunity for them to receive the second vaccine. Children younger than 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
About the nasal vaccine
The nasal vaccine, which is safe and equally effective as the injectable, will usually be provided to those people younger than 50 years old who are not pregnant, are not immunosuppressed or have chronic medical conditions, such as heart disease, lung disease or asthma. People who have any of these contraindications, will receive the injectable vaccine.
