Car dealers visit Childrens Regional Hospital at Cooper to donate mini cars for kids having surgery<\/p><\/div>\n

Young Patients Will Ride in Style to the OR \u2013 Helping to Relieve Fear and Anxiety<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having surgery can be stressful for anyone, but especially for children.\u00a0 Thanks to a special donation from Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group, children at Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper will now have a new way to relieve some of their stress and anxiety while preparing for surgery.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the auto group visited Cooper on October 17, 2019 to donate three mini, luxury remote-controlled cars \u2013 a VW Beetle, a Mercedes, and an Audi.\u00a0 The cars will be used by the children under staff supervision to drive themselves to the Operating Room prior to surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to thank Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group for this wonderful donation,\u201d said Matthew Moront, MD, head of the division of Pediatric Surgery at Cooper.\u00a0 \u201cBeing in the hospital is scary for children. Having surgery is scary. Any way that we can relieve children\u2019s anxiety and fear helps to promote healing and recovery. These cars will be important tools in helping us achieve that.\u201d<\/p>\n
