Throughout the year and across South Jersey, our Cooper Team comes together to serve, heal, and educate our local families and communities. December was no different! Here are some photos from this month at Cooper.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive runs through Dec. 31, 2019. <\/strong>Visit the\u00a0Deptford Barnes & Noble at 1553 Almonesson Road<\/a> to purchase a book that will be donated to their Holiday Book Drive for our pediatric patients. And you can shop The Cooper Foundation’s Amazon Wish list<\/a> for games, toys and craft supplies for the Johnny M. Playroom at Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper any time of year.<\/p>\n

Adopt A Family<\/h2>\n

For the tenth year in a row, our Cooper Team came together to help local families in need this holiday season. Together, we “adopted” more than 500 people and generously donated 3,000 toys, 2,000 items of clothing, 120 home and kitchen goods, and 150 gift cards for groceries. Santa Flies in on Cooper 1<\/h2>\n

Santa expedited his trip to Cooper with a flight on Cooper 1 to spread cheer at the Children\u2019s Regional Hospital, hearing Christmas wishes from our littlest patients and delivering presents to our pediatric playroom.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

Cooper IT Decorating Contest<\/h2>\n

Visitors to the CCBO were treated to a walk-through winter wonderland! Our Cooper IT team had a friendly decorating contest that resulted in a rich maze of holiday nostalgia and creativity. This year’s themes were Peanuts Christmas, Jingle Balls, Christmas Vacation, Christmas Night at the Movies, Mauve-lous Christmas, Gingerbread House, 12 Days of Christmas, and Nightmare before Christmas.<\/p>\n

The first place winner was Christmas Night at the Movies (459 points)! They will receive a trophy with a name plate of their themes name on it for the year. In close second and third place were Christmas Vacation (446 points) and Gingerbread House (407 points).\u00a0Each of the teams in IT had 2 weeks for the decorating, and the teams consist of anywhere from 5-10 employees. Congratulations to all!<\/p>\n

\nSeason of Hope & Healing Snowflake Tree Lighting<\/h2>\n

This year we celebrated our Trauma Center’s 11th Annual Season of Hope & Healing Snowflake Tree Lighting. The annual snowflake fundraiser benefits families of trauma patients during their hospital stay. Snowflakes can be purchased in honor or in memory of someone special and are displayed in the DiFlorio Family Healing Garden through December.<\/p>\n

Women’s Board Committee Annual Children’s Holiday Party<\/h2>\n

The Women\u2019s Board Committee of The Cooper Foundation hosted their annual holiday party on Saturday, December 14, making the season a bit brighter for more than 60 local children with food, face painting, a magic show, pictures with Santa, and toys and gifts for everyone in attendance. The Women\u2019s Board Committee is now in its 100th<\/sup> year, and is committed to the health and well-being of women and children. Throughout the year, they host events and fundraisers to support the Children\u2019s Holiday Party and many other Cooper initiatives.<\/p>\n

Holiday Tree Contest<\/h2>\n

This year’s Holiday Tree Contest was a close call! The winners were Camden’s Physical Therapy Department for Best Health Care Theme, and our Radiation Oncology Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper for Best Holiday Theme.<\/p>\n
