During Tuesday\u2019s ceremony, Cooper recognized and thanked Dennis DiFlorio and family as well as other donors whose contributions has made the healing garden possible for patients, families and visitors to enjoy. The DiFlorio\u2019s donated $375,000 towards the construction of the healing garden, which has been named in their honor.<\/p>\n<p>The event featured violinists and a reading from Walt Whitman himself. Four Cooper employees helped bury a time capsule filled with memorabilia from the grand opening of the Patient Pavilion into the healing garden. It will be re-opened fifty years from now reflecting the progress that has been made at Cooper.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Cooper University Hospital is a Planetree hospital focusing on family and patient centered care. The new healing garden is an extension of this concept, allowing nature to support in calming and bringing peace to those in need.
