76ers and The GIANT Company team up to donate 2,500 meals to Philadelphia and Camden hospital workers.<\/em><\/h2>\n

Companies to support female and minority-owned restaurants through their “Off Their Plate” non-profit.<\/em><\/h2>\n

\"\"The Philadelphia 76ers and The GIANT Company announced today a joint initiative entitled, \u201cFeeding the Frontlines,\u201d which will provide meals to hospital workers through local restaurants. Together they will donate 2,500 meals to healthcare workers at Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia, a grantee of the Sixers Youth Foundation, as well as partner hospital Cooper University Health Care in Camden, Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and other local healthcare providers. The companies will be donating through Off Their Plate<\/a>, a grassroots organization that delivers nutritious meals to frontline healthcare professionals, while providing economic relief to local restaurants and their workers, with a focus on female and minority-owned restaurants.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful to The GIANT Company for joining us in our mission to support both our healthcare heroes who tirelessly serve the community day and night, as well as the local restaurants which continue to prepare and provide meals in the most challenging of times,\u201d said Philadelphia 76ers Chief Marketing Officer Katie O\u2019Reilly. \u201cWe hope our efforts will continue to fuel the heroism in our city and inspire others to support those who need it most.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur team at Cooper has been working tirelessly preparing, responding, and caring for COVID-19 patients, and we thank the 76ers and The GIANT Company for their generosity of providing meals for our team members,\u201d said Kevin O\u2019Dowd, Co-CEO of Cooper.<\/p>\n

Off Their Plate’s Philadelphia chapter works primarily with female and minority-owned restaurants, some of which are in the city’s hardest hit areas. The restaurants they are partnering with in Philadelphia include Baology, Cafe Ynez, Sate Kampar, El Merkury, Walnut Street Caf\u00e9, Hardena, Cadence, Los Cuatro Soles, Rex 1516 and Mexico Lindo Y Que Rico. Each donation will directly support restaurants by providing economic relief for workers and the food cost for each donated meal.<\/p>\n
