\"\"Cooper University Health Care has been named to\u00a0Newsweek\u2019s\u00a02020 list of\u00a0Best Maternity Care Hospitals.<\/a> The distinction recognizes facilities that have excelled in providing care to mothers, newborns, and their families<\/a>, as verified by the 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Survey.\u00a0The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization that reports on the safety and quality performance of health care facilities in the United States.<\/p>\n

Nationwide, only 231 hospitals have received this distinction in 2020.<\/p>\n

Hospitals named as a Best Maternity Care Hospital have fully met The Leapfrog Group\u2019s standards for maternity care on evidence-based, nationally standardized metrics including lower rates of early elective delivery, NTSV C-section, and episiotomy, as well as compliance with process measures including newborn bilirubin screening prior to discharge and blood clot prevention techniques for mothers delivering via C-section.<\/p>\n
