The Cooper Center for Healing, which includes Cooper University Health Care\u2019s Addiction Medicine Division, has opened a new community-based office in Camden for patients suffering from addiction disorders. Conveniently located in the Bridgeview Building at 800 Cooper Street in Camden, the new office will provide more opportunities for substance use disorder treatments for patients across South Jersey.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to providing compassionate, accessible, academic-level care to those suffering from substance use disorders,\u201d said Kaitlan Baston, MD, MSc, DFASAM<\/a>, division head of the Addiction Medicine Division at Cooper. \u201cOur comprehensive, team approach has helped thousands of patients successfully regain control of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper\u2019s Center for Healing provides patients with evidence-based medical treatment for substance use disorder. Group and individual behavioral therapy, group medical appointments (within the confines of state capacity limits related to COVID-19), financial navigation, and community resource navigation are all offered to patients. \u00a0The Center is also home to one of the most comprehensive Perinatal Addiction Programs in the state.<\/p>\n

Patients at The Cooper Center for Healing can expect non-stigmatizing, trauma-informed treatment that considers the whole person and family in the development of care plans. The program\u2019s multidisciplinary staff of physicians, nurses, counselors, social workers, and patient navigators are specially trained to work with patients struggling with addiction.<\/p>\n

In addition to clinical work, the Cooper Center for Healing at Bridgeview will be the epicenter of the Southern NJ Medical-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence\u2014 a combined venture of Cooper Addiction Medicine and the Rowan Neuromuscularskeletal Institute.\u00a0 The Southern NJ Medical-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence provides education and training on evidenced-based addiction treatment to providers throughout the state, and promotes the growth of a network of X-Waivered (trained and approved to prescribe buprenorphine) providers.\u00a0 Later this year the team will train paramedicine crews and Department of Corrections staff throughout the nine southern counties on evidence-based addiction treatment.<\/p>\n

The Cooper Center for Healing is open-access, accepting walk-in patients from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Advanced Recovery Systems, Cooper opened The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper, a new, 90-bed inpatient drug and alcohol treatment center in Cherry Hill, NJ, in January 2021. This state-of-the-art facility offers a full continuum of care for adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.<\/p>\n
