The Pfizer vaccine is now available for all Camden residents ages 12 and older at <strong>The Cooper Vaccine and Education Center at The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center, <\/strong>1865 Harrison Avenue, Camden, NJ 08105. For appointments, call 856.225.6141. <strong>Vaccination Appointment Hours: <\/strong>Mondays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FDA has rigorously evaluated the vaccine\u2019s safety and effectiveness in clinical trials for children aged 12 to 15,\u201d said Michael Kirchhoff, MD, an Emergency Medicine physician and Patient Safety Officer at Cooper University Health Care. \u201cThis simply means that it is safe for your tween or teen to be vaccinated and it will allow them to get back to normal and doing the things they love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although fewer children have been infected with COVID-19 compared to adults, children can be infected, get sick, and spread the virus to those with higher risks of serious illness. Getting the majority of the community vaccinated is a critical step forward in reaching herd immunity and ending the pandemic. To help the community make an informed decision about vaccination, Cooper offers resources on COVID-19 and the vaccines on its website, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/patients-visitors\/coronavirus-covid-19-information\">Cooper\u2019s COVID-19 resource center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Riding-sharing companies <a href=\"https:\/\/n-www.walgreens.com\/findcare\/vaccination\/covid-19\">Uber<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/vaccine-access\">Lyft<\/a> are offering free rides to those in need of transportation to vaccination sites.
