Cooper University Health Care\u2019s Center for Healing<\/a> was privileged to host a meeting of addiction medicine specialists as part of MATTERS<\/a>, a regional tristate initiative (NJ, PA, NY) linking patients to resources for addiction services, to share best practices, provide program updates, and collaborate.<\/p>\n

Participants at the November 29 meeting included multidiscipline representatives from the University of Buffalo Department of Emergency Medicine, the New Jersey Department of Health, New Jersey Emergency Medical Services, Rutgers University, St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, and Hopeworks.<\/p>\n

\"\"The Cooper Center for Healing is a regional leader in addiction medicine and behavior health services, and takes an integrative approach in providing patients access to pain, addiction, and behavioral health care in a variety of entrance points based on each individual need.<\/p>\n

Patient services include inpatient addiction consultation, outpatient addiction consultation, and perinatal substance use disorder program among others.<\/p>\n

The program also offers grant-funded\u00a0undergraduate and graduate medical education training in addiction medicine and research to advance policy in the field of addiction medicine.\u00a0The Center for Healing is staffed with a multidisciplinary and compassionate team of providers from many disciplines, including addiction medicine, emergency medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, psychology and behavioral health. The Cooper Center for Healing is recognized by the State of New Jersey as a Medication-Assisted Treatment Center of Excellence for Substance Use Disorder.<\/p>\n
