The award-winning Stories in Care series features members of Cooper’s Critical Care Team.<\/p><\/div>\n

Cooper University Health Care was recently named the winner of Ragan Communications\u2019 PR Daily Content Marketing Awards for the Best Video Series for Stories in Care<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, a riveting 22-part documentary style miniseries highlighting the powerful and emotional COVID-19 experiences of its frontline workers. The purpose of the national competition was to highlight the power of storytelling to connect with and inspire audiences.<\/p>\n

Told in emotional, first-person accounts, Stories in Care<\/em><\/strong> captures the triumphs, tragedies, and recollections of members of Cooper\u2019s Critical Care<\/a> team through one of the world\u2019s most pressing public health crises in decades. The videos give a firsthand, historic account of the early days of the pandemic through the eyes of the courageous health care professionals who treated those infected with the virus.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile the story of COVID-19 is often told in numbers\u2014tests, hospital admissions, and deaths, we wanted to capture and preserve the many stories on the more human aspects of fighting the disease,\u201d said Nitin K. Puri, MD<\/a>, director of Critical Care Medicine at Cooper, whose team is featured in the series.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we approach the two-year anniversary of our fight against COVID-19, it was important to have a preserved history of the efforts and recollections of Cooper\u2019s courageous team members, who experienced what it was like in the early period of this fight,\u201d said Kevin O\u2019Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper. \u201cWe are honored to be recognized with this award.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYears from now, when the pandemic is long-over, we and future generations of health care workers will benefit from having a video history of the experiences of those who worked tirelessly on the front lines fighting COVID-19,\u201d said Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper.<\/p>\n

Since it first aired on Cooper\u2019s social media channels and website, the series has had more than 38,000 views. Last year, the award-winning series also also won a coveted Gold Award in the 42nd<\/sup> Annual Telly Awards, which recognizes the best work created in video and television across all screens. Stories in Care<\/strong> <\/em>was one of 12,000 Telly Award submissions in 2020.<\/p>\n
