In recognition of National Nurses Week, to take place May 6 through May 12 this year, Cooper University Health Care honors the committed, compassionate nurses who provide expert care to our patients and their families. Your dedication and hard work are crucial in supporting the health of our community and the patients you care for.<\/p>\n

The American Nurses Association theme for this year\u2019s Nurses Week is\u00a0Nurses Make a Difference<\/strong>. In keeping with this theme, Kathy Devine, DrNP, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive, has provided a special message recognizing the hard work and dedication of Cooper\u2019s nurses:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe American Nursing Association has chosen the theme\u00a0Nurses Make a Difference<\/em>\u00a0as we celebrate national nurse\u2019s week this May. While nurses have historically been recognized for their promotion of health and wellness of individuals, families, and communities, the COVID-19 pandemic has furthered the value and significance of nurses in influencing outcomes in a widespread public health emergency. Nurses responded in many ways; for example, they\u00a0were present at the bedside of the acutely ill, administered vaccines in community settings, served as advisors for public policy, and led hospitals\u2019 incident command teams. Through resiliency, innovation, and professional commitment, nurses have and will continue to support the needs of individuals and communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are exceptionally proud of our Cooper nurses, and excited to recognize their integral roles across our health system and continuum of care.\u00a0 May 6 is National Nurses Day, and kicks off the official week of celebration and activities. As we celebrate Nurses Week, let\u2019s be grateful for the opportunity to practice the art and science of nursing, and to be part of a larger professional community that is so trusted and respected.<\/p>\n
