Be SMART<\/strong> adults:<\/p>\n

S<\/strong>afe home \u2013 decrease fall risk hazards<\/p>\n

M<\/strong>edication \u2013 know what you take, why you take it, and side effects of medications<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>ctivity \u2013 Exercise to increase balance, mobility, and strength<\/p>\n

R<\/strong>outine \u2013 eye exams, hearing exams, and good nutrition<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>alk to your healthcare provider \u2013 communicate concerns, discuss risks, & resources available<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SPOT<\/strong> your children:<\/p>\n

S<\/strong>ecure children in high chairs, shopping carts, changing tables, strollers, etc.<\/p>\n

P<\/strong>ractice \u2013 assist children going up and down stairs, utilize sturdy, secure activity devices to help practice standing and walking<\/p>\n

O<\/strong>utside \u2013 Utilize playgrounds with soft, shock absorbing surfaces such a rubber mulch, encourage safety on playground equipment<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>each \u2013 children and teens appropriate play behaviors to limit injuries.<\/p>\n
