\"\"(Camden, NJ):<\/strong> Continuing a meaningful tradition, members of the Camden County Police Department\u2019s FOP Lodge 218 and CCPD commanders presented a donation to The Cooper Foundation<\/a> in support of colorectal cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper<\/a>. This annual contribution is made in memory of Officer Matthew Sviben, a member of the department who lost his life to colorectal cancer in 2021.<\/p>\n

For the fourth consecutive year, CCPD officers donated at least $30 each to take part in No Shave November<\/em>. Thanks to their generosity, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 218 has once again raised a sum of $4,000 to fund vital cancer research. This brings the total to $23,500 raised since the inaugural fundraiser in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonoring Officer Sviben\u2019s memory through this initiative means a great deal to our department,\u201d said CCPD Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. \u201cThis donation not only pays tribute to a colleague taken far too soon but also strengthens our commitment to supporting groundbreaking research right here in Camden at MD Anderson at Cooper. Together, we\u2019re working toward a future where others won\u2019t have to endure this devastating disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cooper Foundation is deeply honored to once again receive this generous donation in memory of Officer Sviben,\u201d said Philip A. Norcross, Esq., chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board. \u201cHis legacy lives on through these contributions, which directly support research efforts to combat colorectal cancer. We are inspired by the ongoing dedication of the CCPD and the Sviben family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful for the CCPD\u2019s partnership and shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community,\u201d added Lisa Morina, senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer at The Cooper Foundation. \u201cThe memory of Officer Sviben continues to inspire generosity and hope, and we thank Chief Rodriguez, the officers of the Camden County Police Department, and the Sviben family for their enduring support.\u201d<\/p>\n
