Representatives from a variety of organizations across South Jersey visited Cooper University Health Care\u2019s new Cooper Multispecialty Care at Market Street<\/a> Wednesday afternoon to tour the new facility and learn about the multidisciplinary approach which makes it a unique asset to Cooper\u2019s care offerings. This new facility combines family medicine, addiction medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatric services in one shared location, allowing seamless collaboration between care teams and reducing a patient\u2019s need for transportation.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Guests from local law enforcement, other health care agencies, area colleges, public health nonprofits, and other community organizations explored the space and learned about its capabilities. Cooper physicians and administrators were on hand to guide the tours and answer questions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The tours showcased the modern exam rooms, private areas for patients to use computers or phones, a playroom for children, and a multipurpose room frequently used for group therapy sessions, meetings, and events.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTransportation and trust are real barriers to care for many of our patients. Bringing complementary services together in one location allows for greater access, better relationship building and meaningful collaboration among care teams,\u201d said Rachel Haroz, MD, FAACT<\/a>, center head of the Cooper Center for Healing<\/a>. \u201cOur visitors shared in that vision.\u201d \u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The co-location of services allows for improved integration between specialties, particularly benefiting patients with complex needs. This includes perinatal patients with substance use disorders who can receive care through the Center for Healing\u2019s EMPOWR program, which provides addiction care to soon-to-be and new mothers. The facility also houses a Cooper initiative focused on adolescent behavioral health and addiction, designed to provide care to younger patients with a compassionate and interdisciplinary approach.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cooper Multispecialty Center at Market Street first opened to patients in September 2024.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
