\"\"(CAMDEN, NJ) \u2013 <\/strong>Anita Miller, CRNA, MSN, an advanced practice nurse at Cooper Norcross Health, has been named APP of the Year by National APP Week, an organization that honors the contributions of advanced practice providers for their contributions to health care teams across the nation.\u00a0 Miller was selected from more than 100 nominees across the nation. The award was announced during National APP Week, celebrated the fourth week of every September.<\/p>\n

Miller, chief certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) at Cooper Norcross University Hospital, established daily CRNA safety huddles, creating a consistent forum for real-time communication, problem-solving, and dissemination of critical patient safety information across all practice sites. Also under her leadership, the CRNAs have\u00a0 embraced a culture of 24\/7 survey readiness, ensuring that quality and safety standards are embedded into daily practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnita Miller represents the very best of advanced practice at Cooper Norcross. Her clinical expertise, her calm leadership in high-acuity environments, and her unwavering commitment to patient\u2011centered care embody the values our APP community strives for every day,\u201d said Eileen Campbell, APN,\u00a0MSN, FNP-BC, chief advanced practice provider and director of the Center for Advanced Practice. \u201cWe are proud to honor Anita as APP of the Year and grateful for the impact she makes on our patients, our teams, and our organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Miller redesigned the CRNA Leadership Platform, creating six specialized Lead CRNA roles focused on clinical operations, workforce operations, quality and safety, education, anesthesia technicians, and experience. Each role includes clearly defined responsibilities, measurable goals, annual work plans, and a formal succession pathway aligned with institutional strategic priorities.<\/p>\n

Miller champions innovation by implementing new technologies, including developing an in-house scheduling platform, and expanding clinical education. She also fosters a culture of service as demonstrated by her department\u2019s seven years of volunteer support at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey. Through her strategic vision, advocacy, and commitment to developing future leaders, Miller has strengthened her department, the APP community, and the health system.<\/p>\n

The Cooper Norcross Center for Advanced Practice<\/a> includes advanced practice providers (APPs) including physician assistants\/associates, nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, and certified anesthesiologist assistants. APPs are prepared through advanced education and clinical training to provide a wide range of preventive and acute health care services to individuals of all ages.\u00a0 Advanced practice providers are an integral part of the health care team at Cooper Norcross, and more than 700 APPs practice in every institute and center of the health system.<\/p>\n
