They assist nurses and technicians by transporting patients, escorting families to their appropriate destinations, and providing the emotional support necessary to ensure that every patients experience at Cooper is a positive one.<\/p>\n<p>During the devastating earthquake in Haiti, they helped support our colleagues as they embarked on a medical relief mission by gathering materials and organizing a collection of crutches for the victims. David Fuller, M.D., Director, Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and a member of Cooper\u2019s medical mission team shared his experience in Haiti through a photo presentation and expressed his appreciation to all of the volunteers who helped make their journey possible.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->George E. Norcross, III, Chairman of the Board at Cooper, discussed some exciting new initiatives happening at Cooper including the opening of The Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have set new standards for customer service over the past few years and we appreciate the time and effort you put into your volunteer work here at Cooper,\u201d Mr. Norcross said. \u201cWe have seen great changes at Cooper and the excitement continues as we look ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On April 21, 2010 Cooper University Hospital honored its dedicated volunteers at a Recognition Luncheon at One Cooper Plaza.
