The event will raise funds to support the expansion of the hospital\u2019s Simulation Laboratory, which provides high-tech training for thousands of medical professionals each year.<\/p>\n<p>The Gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency at Penns Landing in Philadelphia and will honor hospital Chairman George E. Norcross and his wife, Sandy, for their long-time commitment to Cooper and the City of Camden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first ever Cooper Red Hot Gala is sure to be a party you won\u2019t want to miss,\u201d said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of The Cooper Foundation.  \u201cThe event will be a celebration of Cooper and its role in the community and will raise funds for critical healthcare education and training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Simulation-based medical education at Cooper uses interactive technologies in realistic healthcare settings to help participants develop and refine specific diagnostic, cognitive and surgical techniques in a safe setting \u2013 before caring for real patients. The planned $10 million expansion of Cooper\u2019s Simulation Laboratory will create an 8,000 square-foot state- of-the-art-center with six fully equipped labs, four control rooms and four classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimulation-based medical education is revolutionizing the way hospitals and medical schools train doctors and nurses and is enhancing patient safety at the same time, said Michael Goldberg, M.D., Chief Anesthesiologist at Cooper. \u201cThe Cooper Red Hot Gala is a great opportunity to help us expand the Sim Lab and ensure Cooper remains one of the top providers of simulation-based medical education in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Goldberg and his wife, Melody are co-chairs of the Cooper Red Hot Gala along with Amanda Burden, M.D. and Guy Aiman, and Nina and Calvin Klingner.<\/p>\n<p>The Gala begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 and will include a silent auction and performances by the Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble, Red KoolAde, and The Infernos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tickets are $375 apiece and can be purchased by calling The Cooper Foundation at (856) 963-6704 or visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/redhot\">www.cooperhealth.org\/redhot<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cooper Foundation of Cooper University Hospital will host the Cooper Red Hot Gala on Saturday, March 26.
