While no cases have been reported in the tri-county area, doctors are warning patients to be cautious, especially pregnant women and the elderly. Symptoms of listeriosis can resemble the flu: fever, headache, nausea and diarrhea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike other bacteria, listeria can penetrate other cells within the body,\u201d explained <strong>Henry S.
