Instead, Melvin has saved pennies to help babies born prematurely at Cooper University Hospital\u2019s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).<\/p>\n<p>Melvin, 14, was born at Cooper nine-weeks premature, weighing only 2.9 pounds. His life was saved due to the exceptional care and life saving equipment in Cooper\u2019s NICU. Now, a vibrant and healthy teenager living in Moorestown with his mom and dad, Melvin wants to help other children like him who are born prematurely.
