\"\"<\/a>Have you noticed the 24 young adults,\u00a0dressed in business suits, who assemble in the Roberts Pavilion at the crack of\u00a0dawn on Friday mornings? Perhaps\u00a0you\u2019ve seen them touring the hospital or waiting outside the Sim Lab on Kelemen 9? These men and women are among\u00a0the approximately 300 students who are\u00a0being interviewed for one of the 50 spots\u00a0in the charter class of Cooper Medical\u00a0School of Rowan University (CMSRU). Interview days began in September\u00a0and will continue to be held every other\u00a0Friday through March 2012. The candidates assemble in the lobby and are then\u00a0escorted to Pavilion 10 where their day\u00a0officially begins.<\/p>\n

Interview days consist of\u00a0informational sessions; a guided tour of Cooper; participation in Standardized\u00a0Patient Interviews in the Simulation Lab;\u00a0and traditional 30-minute interviews with\u00a0two interviewees, back on Pavilion 10.<\/p>\n

According to John McGeehan, MD,\u00a0Associate Dean for Student Affairs\u00a0and Admissions at CMSRU, the field of\u00a0prospective students is spectacular. \u201cThey\u00a0have stellar MCAT scores, distinguished\u00a0undergraduate careers, and well-rounded\u00a0extracurricular activities that demonstrate a true commitment to community\u00a0service,\u201d explains Dr. McGeehan. \u201cOur interviewers and Admissions Committee are\u00a0doing a great job sorting through these excellent candidates to find the students who\u00a0best match the mission of our school.\u201d<\/p>\n
